American Express Platinum Losing SiriusXM From Digital Entertainment Credit

Other than my dad, I’m not sure who else this will impact but as of May 8th, 2024, SiriusXM will no longer trigger the $20 monthly Digital Entertainment credit on your American Express Platinum card.

In the fine print towards the end of my recent statement you can see the update. This is the second partner to be removed after they gave Audible the axe last fall.

SiriusXM will no longer trigger the $20 Digital Entertainment Credit

What Else Can the Credit Be Used For?

The $20 Monthly Digital Entertainment credit should be pretty easy for everyone to use. You do have to enroll in this benefit online in order for you to receive the statement credit. But once you enroll, you shouldn’t have to think about it again, unless Amex quietly removes another option again.

Amex Digital Entertainment Credit

Available Partners

  • Disney+

  • ESPN

  • Hulu

  • The Wall Street Journal

  • The New York Times

  • SiriusXM Removed as of May 8th, 2024

  • Peacock

I have the Disney+/ESPN/Hulu bundle that costs $25 so my out of pocket is only $5 per month which I think is a great value. It used to only cost $19.99 but they recently increased it by $5. I still think its worth it.

All of these options would trigger the $20 monthly credit

Wrapping Up

At the end of the day it sucks to see American Express remove a partner for their Digital Entertainment Credit. However, I’m not sure how many people are using their credit for SiriusXM. What do you use your credit for?
