Southwest Companion Pass Promotion

Southwest just announced a great new promotion where you can get their coveted Companion Pass for a few months after taking 2 one-way flights or 1 round trip flight.

Benefits of Southwest’s Companion Pass

Southwest’s Companion Pass allows you to bring a companion for free on any flight whether you pay cash or use points. The only thing you are on the hook for are the taxes and fees which are typically $5.60 each way. Normally this requires taking 100 one-way flights or earning 135,000 qualifying points on Southwest. This is valid for the rest of the year as well as the following year. You do need to designate a companion online but this can be changed three times.

If you fly Southwest with any frequency, this can be a huge benefit and essentially get buy one get one free flights for only the cost of the taxes and fees.

Companion Pass Promotion

With this promotion you can earn a Companion Pass valid from 8/5/2024-10/2/2024. In order to qualify, you need to register here and book either two one-ways or one round trip flight by tomorrow, 3/27/2024 and take that flight by 5/22/2024.

If you already have a flight booked on Southwest, it won’t qualify. But, one of the nice things about Southwest is you can cancel and rebook for free, so it might make sense to do just that in order to qualify for this promotion.

One thing to note is you do have to purchase a flight in order to qualify. A points booking won’t work unfortunately.

Wrapping Up

Southwest is offering a Companion Pass to those who book a new flight by 3/27 and fly by 5/22. This is a great offer for those who fly Southwest and want to take advantage of buy one get one free flights from 8/5 through 10/2.
