Chase United Club Infinite

I’ve posted before about American Airlines’ premium credit card that comes with Admiral’s Club lounge access so I figured it was time to write a post about United’s offering from Chase.

Quick Facts

Signup Bonus: 80,000 United Airlines miles after spending $5,000 in three months. I value United miles at 1.1 cents per mile so this bonus is worth $880. As a point of reference, a one way business class flight to Europe will run you 88,000 miles so this card will get you pretty close to that. You’ll also earn miles for the spending so at a minimum you’ll earn 85,000 miles. But this card has some great bonus categories. You can also earn an additional 5,000 bonus miles by adding an authorized user to your card within the first 3 months.

Points Earned: United Mileage Plus Miles

Status Earned: Earn up to 10,000 Premier Qualifying Points that will help you achieve status faster with United. You’ll earn 25 PQPs for every $500 spent up to 10,000 PQPs each year.

Earnings Structure:
4x miles per dollar on United Airlines purchases.
2x miles per dollar on all travel including airfare, trains, local transit, cruise lines, hotels, car rentals, taxicabs, resorts, rideshare services and tolls.
2x miles per dollar on all dining including delivery services.
1x mile per dollar on all other purchases

Foreign Transaction Fees: None

Authorized User Fee: None. However, authorized users don’t get many of the perks like Club access and free checked bags.

Annual Fee: $525

United Club Membership

If you are a regular United flyer, having access to the United Club can be a nice respite at the airport. This normally costs $550-650 per year so you’d save $25-125 by getting this card instead. You’ll also get access to participating Star Alliance Lounges. Keep in mind this is just for the United Club, not for United’s Polaris Lounges which are their dedicated premium lounges for long haul international business class passengers.

Earn Up to 10,000 Premier Qualifying Points Per Year

If you are chasing status with United, this card can help you get there faster. You’ll earn 25 PQPs for each $500 spent on the card up to 10,000 PQPs per year. While there are certainly better cards out there to put spending on, if you are close to qualifying for a certain status level you’re going after, it could make sense to spend on this card to hit that.

2024 United Elite Status Qualification

Who Is Eligible?

Chase has a total of four United cards with this one being their most premium. There are no restrictions on how many you can have.

Just keep in mind Chase will not approve you for a new card if you’ve opened 5 new cards in the last 24 months. There are some reports of that 5/24 limit being lifted but I would generally not recommend applying if you are at or above 5/24.

Wrapping Up

Getting a United Club membership for up to $125 less than purchasing one outright is a no brainer if you’re going to get one anyway. If you’re a frequent United Airlines flyer, this is a phenomenal card that comes with a lot of great perks. For those also chasing status with United, this could come in handy to top off your account and secure elite status. If you get this card and realize you don’t need United Club access anymore, you can always downgrade to one of their other versions after 12 months.
