Bilt Rent Day February 2025 Promotion

The Bilt Mastercard is an incredible no annual fee card especially for those who rent. It allows you to pay your rent on your credit card even if your landlord doesn’t accept credit card payments, all for no fee.

On the first of each month, Bilt offers a promotion where you get double points (excluding rent) as well as different transfer bonus opportunities or status with hotels and airlines. February’s transfer bonus is a great one.

Earn 2-6x Bilt Points on Rent Day Purchases

On every day besides the 1st of every month, you earn the following:

  • 3x points on dining

  • 2x points on travel

  • 1x points on all other purchases

From 12am EST to 11:59pm PST every purchase you make will receive double points. So for those roughly 27 hours you’ll earn the following:

  • 6x points on dining

  • 4x points on travel

  • 2x points on all other purchases

  • 1x points on rent (this is never doubled)

Earn Double Bilt Points on the First of the Month

On the first of every month, this card turns into one of the best cards out there, certainly for dining, most travel (airfare is still best on the American Express Platinum earning 5x points), and all other purchases. Even if you don’t rent, this card still makes a lot of sense to pick up.

With this offer, you can earn up to 1,000 bonus points each month. Now keep in mind, to earn points on your rent payments you need to make at least 5 transactions per month so you could strategically make those 5 purchases (if not more) on Rent Day.

What is Avianca and their LifeMiles?

If you’re new to the points and miles game, you’ve likely never heard of Avianca or their LifeMiles program. Avianca is a South American based carrier with tons of routes. Even if you don’t plan on going to South America, you should be aware of them as their LifeMiles program is one of the most useful frequent flyer programs out there.

Avianca’s Partner Airlines

LifeMiles are extremely useful for flights on their partner airlines to Europe as prices start at just 45,000 miles each way in business class from the Northeast US to the UK and Ireland. The rest of Europe starts at 70,000 miles.

Want to fly Lufthansa first class? Those run just 130,000 LifeMiles per person each way.

I’ve redeemed millions of LifeMiles for myself and clients over the years but don’t think I’ve ever stepped foot on an actual Avianca plane.

Avianca’s website is a bit frustrating sometimes to say the least and will occasionally show what we call “Phantom Award Space”. Meaning, it will look like a flight is available to book with miles but it is actually a glitch. Whenever I’m booking an award flight with LifeMiles, I always check Air Canada’s Aeroplan to confirm the space is actually available. So why not just book with Air Canada? Well Air Canada has higher prices. Those are the tradeoffs for getting the best deal with your points and miles.

Should I Do a Speculative Transfer to LifeMiles?

If anyone ever asks if they should transfer credit card points to a partner when there is a transfer bonus, I almost always say no. Frequent flyer programs are known to increase the cost of awards without notice or they make it much more difficult to book award seats with their miles.

In this case, if you’re a Bilt Platinum member and would get a 100% bonus, it could make sense to speculatively transfer points over if you know you’ll be booking a flight soon where you’ll be able to use the points quickly. The other caveat is that you have more points than you know what to do with. I certainly wouldn’t transfer all my Bilt points during this bonus, but if you’re sitting on a sizeable stash of points and want to start thinking about booking a trip soon, it could make sense.

Wrapping Up

Bilt is offering a bonus when transferring points to Avianca LifeMiles of between 20% and 100% depending on your elite status.
